What should I do if I feel uncomfortable during a session?
Stop the session. You are always in control of the experience, and there is nothing wrong with ending a session early. If the feeling stays with you afterwards, reach out to someone who can support you.
What should I do in the moment?
Stop the audio and take off your headphones. Give yourself a moment to come back to your surroundings: open your eyes, sit up, take a few slow breaths, get some water or fresh air. There is no need to finish a session you do not want to continue.
When should I seek support?
If you feel distressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally activated in a way that does not settle, reach out to a trusted person or a qualified mental health professional. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline right away. Subrise is not intended for use in an emergency and is not a replacement for professional care.
Why can a session bring up difficult feelings?
Relaxation and self-reflection can sometimes surface thoughts or emotions you were not expecting. This is not unusual, but it also does not mean you have to push through it. Trust your own experience over the session.
Can I try again later?
Yes. You can adjust what you work on, choose a lighter session type such as Relaxation, or listen to something from the audio library instead. You can also change the session length, the voice, or the listening depth if something about the delivery did not sit well.
Should I tell anyone at Subrise?
If a session felt inappropriate or something seemed wrong with the content, let us know. Feedback helps us improve the experience for everyone.
