What is self-hypnosis and how is it used in Subrise?
Self-hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention and deep relaxation. In this state, many people find it easier to reflect, imagine possibilities, explore new perspectives, and engage with personal goals without the distractions of everyday thinking. Contrary to common myths, self-hypnosis does not involve losing control or becoming unconscious. You remain aware and in control throughout the experience.
How does self-hypnosis work?
Self-hypnosis typically involves guided relaxation, focused attention, and the use of imagery, reflection, or suggestions. Many people experience it as a state similar to becoming absorbed in a book or movie, daydreaming, deep relaxation, or guided meditation.
How does Subrise use self-hypnosis?
Some Subrise sessions incorporate self-hypnosis techniques to help create a calm, focused state that may support reflection, learning, motivation, and personal growth. These techniques may include guided relaxation, focused attention exercises, visualization and imagery, positive suggestions, and future-oriented reflection. The goal is to help you engage more deeply with the themes and objectives of the session.
Do I need to be hypnotized for Subrise to work?
No. Many users benefit from Subrise without experiencing what they would describe as hypnosis. The sessions are designed to be valuable whether you feel deeply relaxed, lightly focused, or simply engaged with the content.
Will I lose control?
No. You remain aware and in control at all times. You can stop listening, open your eyes, change position, or end the session whenever you wish.
Is self-hypnosis the same as sleep?
No. Although some people become very relaxed or even fall asleep, self-hypnosis is generally considered a state of focused attention rather than sleep.
